I’ve never really had the chance of going to a music festival. Jeez! I can even count the concerts I’ve been to with one hand alone. However, I will for once join the ample number of bloggers who put together festival worthy looks. As I have mentioned in my last post, I’ve been gravitating towards high waist denim shorts lately, and this post will be no exception!
Lately, I have been inevitably drawn by high waist shorts. They have pretty much become part of my weekend uniform. For me, they are a no brainer: easy to pair with other pieces, perfect for the smoldering heat, and a chic way to hide my tummy. Here is one of the ways I like to combine them.
I have come to realize that one of the keys of style is being authentic. It is not about what or who you are wearing, it is not about your size, it is not even about what runways schizophrenically dictate.
One of my favourite quotes about fashion goes: “Style is personality. It’s having the ability to look at things beyond fashion, and the self-confidence to transform even the simplest thing into something special. It is a natural quality you cannot learn, and there are no rules to follow.” -Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana- And the proof to this statement stands right before our eyes. The great fashion icons, are usually the ones that follow their hearts and originality, not caring about what people may think, say, or judge. It is really about looking within us to find the uniqueness that we each have, and translating it into a beautiful statement of our own.
