As promised, here is another of the sporty looks I worked on with Simán. My trainer knows me too well, and he is very much aware of my hate relationship with cardio, however it is inevitable that I should dedicate some time every day to it. This is why, he is always trying to find alternatives to the typical 20 minute treadmill runs. Kickboxing has proven to be amongst my favorite options, it is a great way to release energy and get my heartbeat up.
Two weeks into the year and I am sure we have all thought about getting healthier, getting leaner or getting active. While I lived abroad, exercising was an issue always gnawing at the back of my head, but hardly becoming a reality. It had a little to do with my lack of time, and a lot to do with my lack of money. I did join a gym in Toronto, but the truth was that despite my determination, I always felt I wasn’t doing it right. So when I came back home, one of my brightest decisions was to get personal training.
Although I’m not much of a sports person, I’m really trying to be more active. Last Saturday, I shockingly agreed to play a match of paddle tenis with a few friends. Funnily enough, I realized that the only pair of sporty shorts I own are the ones from my school uniform…For a while, I’ve been meaning to upgrade my gym wear wardrobe, because I have come to the conclusion that the better I look in my gym clothes, the more I will want to excersice and practice sports. I found these pair of stardust print leggings last week and they immediately caught my eye. They’re fun, playful, and out of the ordinary, and for what is worth, they make up for a really comfy and cool look.
The key to mix matching prints is sticking to the same color palette. For this outfit, I combined a floral print top with a pair of checkered leggings. As loud as the look may seem, the monochromatic tones bring the tone down. I also added bright colored accessories.
I am not what you would call a leggings fan. As a matter of fact, if anything, I am its enemy (I would burn them all down if I could). However, I have to admit that for this look, the leggings actually work because of the length of the top. I love the combination of snakeskin and faux-leather: it’s daring, sexy, and somewhat powerful. To pull the look together I wore it with silver shoes and jewellery. I hope you guys like it!
PS: I just received my order of flash tattoos and they are unbelievably cool! I tried them out as the dotted gold ring on my finger. You got to love them!
On holidays, and especially during winter, I tend to have lazy days. Days when I can barely command my body to crawl out of bed… not to mention to actually dress up. These are the days when all I want to do is throw a cozy, shapeless jumper on and snug in the couch with a big mug of hot chocolate. Of course, I have a pair of warm woolly socks that I reserve for these sluggish occasions, which are perfect to walk about barefoot.
After the first round of Christmas partying, I have pretty much succumbed to laziness… hence my belated Christmas wishes. But you know what they say: Better later than never. So I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
