I had to stop myself from crying. It was a very emotional moment to see Lumi sprint down the runway, stand mid-catwalk and shyly, but excitedly grin to the roaring crowd. It was all I could do not to race to where she was, and shamelessly embrace her. I didn’t think I would feel such a whirlwind of emotions surge inside of me, but I did.
Weeks before that moment, I received a text: “Andrea, I would like to dress you for fashion week”. “YASS!!” My heart leapt for joy! For me, who am a total sucker for the brand, there was no better way to show up at fashion week, than dressed up in Lumi!
Two days before the shows, I squeezed in a fitting into my schedule. When Lumi showed me the collection, it made me shiver! It was SOOO GOOD!! I was left pining for every piece. The thrill multiplied by 3 when the models strolled past my eyes. Seeing Lumi shine at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week El Salvador, made me swell with pride. Wearing this cute look, gave me the splendid sensation of being a part of something great, something vast as a starry night. Bravo, Lumi!
Army green is hands down one of my preferred colours to wear, perhaps because it combines well with so many others (pink, mustard, camel, black, orange,…); or maybe, because of the cool, ready to battle feel that it discharges. Now that I come to think about it, it also happens to be a staple colour of one of my favourite casual brands: Marissa Webb. So maybe it is a little bit of all of this together what pulls me towards the hue. Whatever it may be, here is a look that revolves around the concept of strength and combat, a mood that is given by the cargo jeans and the killer Vince Camuto laser-cut heels.
Last Wednesday, cladded up in candy pink, I was glad to be wearing woolly layers and jeans. Believe it or not, the afternoon we shot this look was a particularly chilly one. It is March, and the soon to be unbearable heat of Summer has been thrusting the mercury up. But for no reason, that evening, the clouds were ganging up on us and threatening with rain. Even if the cool temperatures offered us a soothing afternoon, we were forced to shut the panoramic doors because the mischievous winds wouldn’t give us a rest.
By now, I have lost count on the amount of times that I have proclaimed our shoulders to be the hottest couple of the moment! Believe me when I say that they are, at the same time, your best allies, and your sharpest weapon to conquer the streets. From a girl who has tried on as many possible variations of the off-the-shoulder trend to you, the one that I find more comfortable is when the sleeves come “detached” from the main part of the top, such as the one I’m wearing on this post; that way the sleeves won’t be rolling up at your every move.
There is something I must admit about this look. It was actually inspired by one of my best friend’s previous outfit. I was never a fan of XL length tops like this burgundy one, until I saw it on my friend one night. As it happened we went to a chill house reunion with a few friends, and she was wearing a pair of vintage looking black jeans and a grey t-shirt, that shapelessly fell all the way to her kneecap. I personally was not allured by it. But the night rolled in, and we moved the party to a club. My friend and I went separately. As I saw her stepping down the car, my opinion about the garment of my objection, completely changed. She had effortlessly tied both ends on a simple yet cool looking knot to the left side of her perfectly toned torso. Needless to say, she looked hot, hot, hot. So when this excessive peace of cloth came my way, I was no longer offended by it, on the contrary it made me want to create a beautiful outfit with it. I hope you guys like it!
