Poplin shirts are having a major moment right now. I love how designers are upping the ante of casual wear, by adding whimsical details to our usual, everyday shirts. They come with ruffles, tassels, flared sleeves, and a long line of etceteras.
The moment I spotted this particular top, I coveted it; its allure residing on how it mixes your typical baby blue stripes with the floral embroideries, a style very à la Gucci. I kept the look on the cool tones, by sticking to blues, whites, and silvers. This way, the outfit results fun, yet smart enough for a casual day of work.
After much commenting over the BAFTA Awards, it is now time to talk about the Grammys. It was actually harder for me to write this post, considering that there were more stars walking this red carpet. However, I think I’ve come up with 5 great looks that will inspire us to finish the week off.
Let’s start with the queen of the night, and by queen I obviously mean Queen B! Needless to say that she glowed, all the way from her golden performance look, to her fiery and definitely not less striking red dress by Peter Dundas. Her shimmering sequined gown complemented by a jewel-drop necklace showed us that she and she alone is the queen of queens at Hollywood.
While looking into this season’s trends, I read somewhere on the net that “if it isn’t off the shoulder it isn’t right”. And according to every other designer, this is one the truest statements that sums SS17’s runways. Although slowly, but surely the shoulder mania is reinterpreting itself -I dare to say that we will soon be witnessing the revival of the one-shoulder trend, as opposed to the current whole collarbone exposure-, we still are in the major boom of cold shoulders. The already hot temperatures, make me very thankful for the trend, and so, here I leave you with a little number that makes me crave even more for summer. I hope you guys like it!
PS: Oh and btw, I’m absolutely nuts over these gorgeous, super colorful and practical Colombian bags! So proud of my friend from @Mestizo_sv!
Last night was a major one on the calendar of both actors and singers. While London hosted the 2017 BAFTA Awards, LA did its part with the Grammys. This is great news for us who get to admire or cringe over a whole bunch of dazzling or dreadful looks, accordingly. As biased as you guys know that I am, let’s begin our review with London.
I will sum up this red carpet as an Alexander McQueen night, for although it was not the reigning designer of the event in terms quantity (Gucci had more numbers on the carpet), it was definitely the reigning one in terms of splendour. Talking about reigning, Kate Middleton, our beloved British Cinderella, looked radiant in an off-the shoulder, floral McQueen. She exuded royal poise with every step.
I really like this top’s asymmetric cut. Its shape, along with the zip up detail revamp the all time classic white shirt. I thought mixing it with a pair of shorts, made the shirt’s structure stand out a bit more, considering how it falls on the back. And to keep it simple, I threw in these really cool laser-cut oxfords.
Ok, so remember that cute little cabin I talked to you about not long ago? Well, today’s backdrop happens to be the same house but from a different perspective. Its garden is designed to make the most of the gorgeous city views, and by night, the flickering lights of the town below find their reflections in the stars that stud the sky. I hope you like my outfit, perfectly fit for a relaxed day in the mountains.
